Terms of Service

The service

ScanSurprise lets you create personalized QR experiences that reveal photos, videos, messages, or links. The product is provided free to start; features and limits may change as we grow. See Pricing for current free-tier details.

Your account

You are responsible for keeping your login credentials secure and for activity under your account. Provide accurate information when signing up. You must be old enough to form a binding contract in your jurisdiction (and at least 13 years old).

Your content

You retain ownership of content you upload or create. You grant us a limited license to host, process, display, and deliver that content so recipients can open your surprises and so we can operate and improve the service (including optional AI generation you request).

You represent that you have the rights to any photos, videos, music, or other material you upload, and that your content does not violate law or these terms.

Acceptable use

You agree not to use ScanSurprise to:

• Harass, threaten, defraud, or harm others
• Distribute malware, phishing links, or illegal content
• Upload sexual content involving minors, or other unlawful material
• Spam, scrape, or abuse the service or infrastructure
• Impersonate others or misrepresent affiliation
• Bypass rate limits, security, or access controls

We may remove content, suspend accounts, or refuse service when we reasonably believe these rules are broken.

QR codes and links

Printed or shared QR codes point to a web link on ScanSurprise. Anyone who obtains that link or code can open the surprise. You are responsible for what you put in a surprise and where you place the code.

If you delete a surprise (or if your content is removed for policy or operational reasons), the QR code will stop working. See our FAQ for how long surprises remain available.

AI features

Optional AI Magic features generate images or videos based on your inputs. Outputs may be imperfect or unexpected. Do not rely on AI content as professional advice. You are responsible for reviewing AI output before sharing it as a gift.

Availability

We aim for reliable hosting but do not guarantee uninterrupted service. Maintenance, outages, or third-party provider issues may affect access. We may modify or discontinue features with reasonable notice when practical.

THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED "AS IS" WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT, TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW.

Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, ScanSurprise and its operators will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for lost profits, data, or goodwill, arising from your use of the service.

Privacy

Our Privacy Policy describes how we handle personal data. It forms part of how we operate the service alongside these terms.

Changes

We may update these terms by posting a new version on this page. Continued use after changes constitutes acceptance. If you do not agree, stop using the service.
